BALANSED kick-off meeting

Eight study regions. Ten work packages. Two days in Wageningen to kick things off.

The BALANSED consortium meets at Hotel Wander on 9 and 10 June 2026. Our sister project TERRAMARE joins us too, with Ricardo Teixeira of the University of Lisbon.

On day one, every study region takes the floor, from Estonia to the Mediterranean Sea. Then the nuts and bolts. How deliberation will work. The online platform we’re building for it. The land and sea models we’ll put to work.

We also hear from Alessandra Sasso, EU Project Officer, on how BALANSED gets delivered. And from Adrian Leip of the European Commission, on the policy side of the project.

Across both days, each work package sets out its plans.

Deliberation and science, side by side, from day one.
